For those of  you who follow me.... Good news....I'm back! 

Life swallowed me up the last three and half weeks that prevented me from posting on my blog.  I've been  juggling  family obligations, work related commitments, commissions and  stressful house renovations!  I'm sure you all can relate! 

But, I'm happy to be back and I have a lot of catching up to do..........

Bathroom Renovation

You may have noticed that I havn't posted in two weeks!  My partner and I decided to take on a bathroom renovation project -- one that was suppose to take 2 weeks that's now entering week three!  Yikes!

Anywy, it has become more consuming than I realized.  Unfortunately, it has taken me away from my easel!

This painting is derived from  scenery and memory of the wetlands I pass on the drive to Delaware.  I love, love, love the clouds in this painting!

I've painted a similar composition to this several times and everytime I find myself wanting to escape into the landscape! This is absolutely one of my favorites!

Arizona

I'm back from my mini visit with my Mom! It such a whirlwind of a trip that I had zero time to post!

We accomplished a lot together in 5 days -- the biggest project was cleaning out my Dad's shop! He collected so many tools over the last 50 years -- he had something for every trade! I felt like I was cleaning up a Home Depot!

We also went to Sedona looking to sell left over silver that my Dad acquired from his Silverworks Shop he had back in the 70's. He was a silversmith and distributer for jewelers. His work was beautiful! Naturally, I packed up some of his old tools and plan to take a class or two in jewelry making this fall.

In addition, my Mom took me on a tour of the "new" catholic church thats being built for the community. A 7 million $ project that my mother has been a part of from ground zero! It's absolutely stunning! Reminds me of a church back East -- it's massive inside with beautiful stain glass windows that came from an old Parish in Philadelphia. She is extemely proud.

Anyway, I'm so thankful for the time I had to visit and it's nice to see that she's doing well.

On that note, it's time to get back to work in my studio. Thanks for listening!

I'm in Big Sky Country!!

I decided to visit my Mom in Arizona for the next couple of days to see how she's holding up without my Dad around. She seems to be managing well ......perhaps it's because she has a purpose and reasons to get up and start the day. Undoubtably, there are some lonely times for her but overall she stays very active working for the Church and keeping close connections with friends! And she's become quite the traveler too with several trips planned in the upcomings months.

I've always admired my Mom's deep inner strength - her ability to be strong and independent seems so natural for her.

Besides cleaning and organizing all of my Dad's things, we've been having a great time together. We took a drive over to Sedona (it's 12 miles from my Mom's house) to enjoy the Red Rocks and beautiful mountains! How spectacular! Sometimes can't believe I grew up here -- it's really a painters dream!! Also, we've been enjoying dining out and watching movies -- John Adams in particular!

Anyway, I will update more on my mini-trip tomorrow!
